Heaven in '07

...heaven on Earth, of course.
Happy New Year y'all.
Although, I don't feel I can use my southern roots today since I did not have my black eyed peas yesterday. The stores were sold out. No wonder my mother bought her can back in November...
With the run on blackeyed peas (canned or frozen) all I could do was download the musical group Blackeyed Peas--not my usual music choice. Ah well. It is all in the intention, after all.

Trust everyone had good holidays and are using today to get your bearings back to the world of facts and details. Notice, that I did not use the phrase, "back to the real world" because I still believe the real world is the inner world; and the rest, what we see and experience in the human form and appearance, is about the facts and details.

Today, I am ready to dismantle the Christmas decor. It was Christmas for so long before it was actually the season, that now I am ready to focus on January and the new year, new opportunities.

New Year's Day was easygoing. Less muss and fuss. I did not put pressure on myself to do certain things. I grew up with not only the idea that you had to have blackeyed peas on New Years Day (so that there would always be food on the table throughout the year) but with the idea that what you did on New Years you did/do throughout the year. Most of my life, I was driven on New Years Day to do activities that would symbolize what I wanted for the year. Now I understand the intention behind that superstition and I realize that it is more about my setting my intention, creating it, and then allowing it instead of going through the motions. Soooooo, this year, I have set inner intentions (in the real world, first) and will go about creating them and making space to allow them to manifest. Much easier, don't ya think?

Last night, we had a lovely dinner and then watched "The Da Vinci Code". I thought that was a good movie to start the year. I so enjoyed the book and found value in the film, too. Then we watched one of my Christmas gifts: A DVD of The Beatles as they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. Wow. I had not seen that show since it's original airing, Feb. 9th, 1964. Of course, over the years, through news clips and documentaries, there have been snippets. But this was the full episode incuding commercials. What a time trip. When I contemplate the idea that as a young girl, not only was I watching history being made, that The Beatles would still be a significant part of my life; and that I would be able to view this show again 43 years later is mind-boggling awesome. And for me, one of the little bonuses in this episode was seeing Georgia Brown sing two numbers from the (then) Broadway musical, "Oliver!". I used to play that soundtrack over and over again and I so appreciated her talents. AND --it gets better-- singing with her on the "I'd Do Anything" number, was Davy Jones who played The Artful Dodger. It was his stage and American debut. For those of you who may not know it, Davy went on to be pop star on his own and one of the four guys who starred in "The Monkees" hit t.v. show that was a parody of... The Beatles! And there they were on the same bill. No way either Mr. Jones or the Fab Four would know how they would later be linked in the British music invasion and my heart.

Be compatient with yourselves this week as you get back to the day-to-day flow of life.

InJoy,
RDD
