Thanks to Katherine McPhee, I now watch "American Idol" regularly. Oh well. I could have other worse vices I suppose. I don't do the Idol chat rooms but I do call and vote for my favoritesl and often a token vote or two for a couple of people that I feel really do their best even if I don't consdier them The Idol.
Tonight's show really made me smile as they contestants had to sing from the 60's British Invasion--my musical adolescence. It was a particular treat for me that the musical coaches this week were LuLu and Peter Noone. Lulu is as one contestant described, a real firecracker. She still looks and sounds great. However, my heart was pounding for my teen heart throb, Peter "Herman of the Hermits" Noone. OH, I had such a crush on him. The stories I could tell about crashing his hotel room when he came to L.A. for a tour. But I digress. A few years ago, Cyndy Ballenger took me to a Hermit's concert here in San Diego for my birthday. I was a giggly pre-teen all over again. And HE signed my T-shirt and shook my hand as I introduced myself as not only a fan but a "dear old Dutch" ( a British musical hall song from eons ago). Mr. Noone is a real-life sweetie on and off-stage and he still makes me smile. Ahhhhhhhhhhh
Since "Idol" gets us in the mood for voting from the audience, here's a little scenario I would like you to weigh in on with me:
On Sunday, I bought myself a new purse for Spring. When I got home to take it out I noticed the receipt seemed a rather low amount for what I had purchased; and on closer look, I realized I had only been charged for the other items and not the purse at all. The clerk had scanned and bagged everything. I had not noticed at the time of the sale that the total was low because I used a Target gift card for part of the payment and didn't pay much attention to what balance I had left. Here's the deal: For several moments on Monday morning, I contemplated the remote possibility that perhaps the Universe was gifting me this purse. Was it my fault/responsibility that the clerk somehow missed the charge? Frankly, I didn't want to spend the time or the gas to drive back to Target again. Was I responsible to go back to the store and pay for it? Could this get the young man in trouble? Could I live with myself if I didn't???? Hmmmmmm.....
So, now it;s your turn. What would you do and why?
This way everyone will get to read how the public responds in the Comments section.
You decide.

Unless I had a clear message that I was supposed to go back, I would say YES! and keep that lovely purse as a Gift and go on and gift the money I would have spent to someone else in a playful, anomymous or unexpected way.
Anyone else reading this would not know that you already took action before you wrote this. I am proud of your decision DD.
