Which is appropriate writing from L.A. (even though, after the recent storm, there is not much shmog here...)
My mother is being discharged from the skilled nursing facility---tomorrow!!! A week early! Ineed, this is good news. After this long dramatic journey, she has pulled through and is well enough to come home. Whew.
Happy to have her coming home and I have been busting my butt to get her apartment cleared up enough for her to get around in a walker and her wheel chair. No small feat if you saw her apartment. And her return is sooner than anticipated, so I have not quite finished. I have made countless trips to Goodwill to release stuff. This will be quite an adjustment for her to come home. I think I am going to get her one of those personal alarms that have been advertised on TV (I've fallen and I can't get up...") because she will be alone here after I leave. Her tenants will be happy to have her home, too.
Being the grown-up is over-rated.
The Academy Awards are earlier this year. This is probalby the first year in forever that I have not seen the majority of the major contenders. It was always soooo important to me to see the big nominees. This time, real life took priority. I did see "The Queen" and it was magnificent. Guess I will catch the rest on DVD.
Before I came back to L.A. this week, I was able to get all the official paperwork handled and the bank accounts open for my new Study Group. Now I just need to get home for an extended period of time so I can plan the first classes. And The Heartspace is due to open in March, too. There has definitely been a shift and a lightening of energies in the past week. I am eager to parlay that into realization of my intentions.
Oh and Happy Birthday, Sally Mirandi!!!
