...or in my case, hold the mayo - I hate mayonaisse.
But I digress..
hello!
Haven't been on in awhile. Getting back from Asheville and dropping that dialect took some time. Getting my So Cal bearings again and back to work. Had a great time at the Convocation. Apprecation to my colleagues and particularly, the UCORS cabinet and Rev. Barbara and Dr. John Waterhouse for the hospitality.
Since it is a blog whereby I have some license to rant a bit may I just use this as a soapbox briefly? I have no patience for Phone Spam. It was bad enough with telemarketers invading our phone lines, but now there are electronic phone calls interrupting our lives with a sales pitch or political lobby or whatever. Argh. And many of those calls are the ones responsible for hang ups on our answering machines. Enough already. thanks for listening.
Ok, so here we are in May and much is going on. I have returned from Asheville, all fired up and rarin' to go. The gray May here is a contrast to the mean green of Asheville. But I prefer the plethora of green Starbucks awnings that are plentiful here. The Padres have rallied for May as they did last year. The government is ... welll.... that is another for another time. Better to discuss how our church is poised for great change.
My love and appreciation to my colleague and friend, Rev.Kevin Bucy for his courageous and powerful talk last Sunday. The timing couldnt have been better. It is just what we needed to complete our work, the release of the past and propelling us into the Vision and our greater future.
The Board of Trustees is meeting tonight to discuss our moving out of our current Mission Valley site and into our right and perfect church location (s). I say locations because we will be moving to a Sunday service site and what are now calling, Home Base which will be for our offices and classrooms. Thank you Don Converse as head of our Home Team for the great legwork you did for us in finding our site(s). Details will be forthcoming after tonight's meeting. Perhaps even on Sunday I will be able to address the congregation and our Practitioners.
Well, that's enough to whet your whistle.
Buckle up for we're on Godspeed.
Love
Rev.DD
