Catch McPheever!

No, I dont mean I want y'all to come down with the bug that appears to still be biting me... (yes, I am still at home, and no, I don't have my voice back yet).

McPheever refers to Katherine McPhee on American Idol tonight! I have emailed several folks to tune to watch and support Katherine and to be sure to VOTE for her.. a lot! Katherine is the beautiful and talented daughter of my dear friend, Peisha McPheeand pianist Mel Dangcil, are from L.A. have often come to Pacific Church as our special musical guests.
Last week, it was hairy because Katherine almost got not-voted to stay. I say it that way as it wasn't that she isn't talented and deserving but I think she fell into the category of everyone knowing she is great and thinking either that she didn't need your vote or that everyone else would vote for her anyway. Fortunately, she stayed on but she really needs your vote this week.
Even the judges agree she is the most talented (no small task right there) and I wouldn't ask you to vote for her if she didn't merit it. "Idol" is not my favorite show and I can't believe I am actually following it (even while I was in Canada) but I am thrilled to support Katherine and her mother. (You can see Peisha in the audience as support.)

This is the only (Mc)Pheever i want anymore.

My goal is to be back at work tomorrow and up to par. If not, i will continue to rest and stay strong towards being up to SUnday service.

SOooooo, I continue to listen. Conetmplate, meditate and pray. There is so much going on inside my mind to pay attention to.
And if my arm wasn't so weary of typing and writing on the erasable whiteboard, i would be doing more writing. Reading and writing right now, seem to be the venue of expression.

Hey for those of you out there that need more cuteness in your life.......try this site:
cuteoverload.com
a great site for photos and articles that are so cute it is almost sacchrine. And maybe if all of us went to the site when we needed a cute fix, we could lighten our e-mail inbox by refraining sending so many of those irresistible cute forwards everyone feels impelled to send...

I appreciate hearing back from you comments to my post. Please feel free to post on the blog so others can share. And remember, if you need it to be private you can always just e-mail me directly.

Thanks again to Tim Kasnoff and John Kurko for getting me up and running on this blog. And there are so many new options to blogging that I have yet to learn. So many blogs, so llitle time.

Oh and did I mention that... PADRES RULE!! We kicked Giant butt yesterday. (Can I say that on a blog??)

Love,
RDD

Dearest Rev. Duchess, (and all others lurking or commenting),
OK, I'll 'fess up and show up... I've been lurking too. Loving the blog concept and your valient blog entries, and the peek into the life that I've always wanted to know better. But I haven't known what to say in comment, because it feels a bit surfacey to me, a tease on the real blog which is not being spoken. OH MY GOD!
Have you had a chance to listen to Rev Phears' talk? He was such a great rabble-rouser. He kept slipping in "wake up! wake up!" type comments about how if we want to find a new home, we've got to get off the old duffs and out the old stuff. Well, let me be the one to say it. I haven't been to all the meetings due to babydoms, so quite possibly I am simply missing the passion that is being held and expressed, but on Sundays, I am not sensing a unified desire to keep going coming from our group and its leaders. I feel a lot of "waiting to see what happens". And I feel that what is unspoken is "maybe it is time to move on". It's OK to say that! Maybe it's true, maybe it aint.
Since we've been talking American Idol, I'll say ala Randy... "just keepin it real"
love love love love love love, Jo

Hey, can I comment on my own blog post and comment? Well, here I go anyway.

Thanks Jo for your authentic reply and the willingness to stir things up. That is part of the intention of the blog--to create dialogue. To have a venue that Sunday mornings don't allow for us.

rev. David is a great rabble rouser indeed. Sometimes, it takes someone outside of the circle to say things in a new way for people to hear. Hope that is what took place.

Willing to jump into the fray, I want to bring attention to your comment about not feeling the passion from the group or its leaders... first of all, you know how I feel about passion. I am passionate about passion and if we are missing passion, we are off purpose and off track and need to pause and take stock.

Did you mean you are sensing that the community does not want to move? Location or off their duffs? Or are you sensing something deeper? "Time to move on..." as in not move to a new location but --GULP--move on to a new incarnation?
We may have opened up Pandora's box here but isn't that what a blog is for? Better we stir and swirl and see what we have in the mix. All the while affirming one's intention--whether it be to have clarity, divine order, resolution, etc. (each of us may have a different intention--what I hope is that we all share a combined intention of the highest experience and expression for the Pacific Church community).

Let's explore our human side but let's be sure to keep our spirituality the prime focus. (that was for all reading--not just for you).

thanks for helping to keep us real.

Love

I mean both: that we do not want to move (location-wise or possibly emotionally) and we question whether we would survive the move as a viable group, and that maybe people are reluctant to talk about the elephant in the living room: the (GULP) possibility of letting go of this incarnation.

Wait a minim.....

Tonight, we rented the new film, "The Fabelmans" and loved it.  Incredible performances, screenwriting and story-telling.  I espec...
