A day that will go down in history no matter who gets elected.
“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”
Because as eager as I am to see this campaign over, our real work is about what happens after tonight. So we must put our attention on the restoration of our country and our own psyches.
We each have our own work to do about healing the shadow within us that collectively out pictured as the two main candidates. (As a softer reminder, we also have something within many of us that out pictured Bernie Sanders, too). So, here goes:
Bless you Mr. Trump and your entire entourage.
Bless you Putin, the F.B.I. and even Fox News.
Bless the angry citizens who have been acting out their rage because Mr. Trump, by his repeated examples, made it seem acceptable to be a bully.
Bless Hillary Clinton for her resiliency and willingness to be mother archetype who can step in and help heal our boo-boos (and her own); ease our bellyaches and make it safe to go out and play again.
I really resonated with something I read this morning from Justin at Curious.com:

"May that curious spirit, and the desire for our leaders to be lifelong learners, guide all of us today."
Together, let us invoke Indra's Web to wrap itself around our world, our country and return each and everyone of us to the beauty and wholeness from which we began.

In my email, was a comment that wanted to be posted in response to my current blog. I hit "delete" instead of "publish"--probably a Freudian slip of sorts--but I really wanted to let the person who read and replied, know my response to his or her comments:

My reply to that would be:
As I re-read, I agree there is a personal bias. However, the spiritual approach is still valid and true because I am asking for a healing for myself and anyone else that has been run roughshod by this campaign. That is why I meant it when I said I was sending blessings to the folks that I did judge. Looking for healing, forgiveness (no matter in which direction) and peace is about as spiritual as one can get.
Thank you for letting me delve even further into my healing.
